Can I change my current tyre size to another size?

It is possible to change the current tyre size on your vehicle; however, many factors need to be considered when you are looking to change your standard size. Some factors are load carrying capacity, vehicle clearance and increase in tyre diameter and wheel track width.

Roadworthy requirements in most Australian states stipulate that a tyres overall diameter must not be increased by more than +15mm or -26mm for passenger vehicles and +50mm or -26mm for off-road vehicles.

Altering your tyre size will affect the accuracy of your speedometer, and may also impact the vehicle sensory systems. For these reasons it is recommended that you consult your vehicle manufacturer and local road authority prior to altering your tyre size.
